It is over nineteen years since I first heard of Christian Science. It came to me in a time of great sorrow; but when the spiritual light of its teachings burst upon my consciousness, all was turned into joy, for I realized that God does not deprive man, His image and likeness, of any good—that good is his now. About three years later an old error attacked me severely—bronchial asthma. I asked for treatment, and though the error was not immediately overcome, a week later such a clear understanding of God's allness came to me that I was instantaneously healed.
Over seven years ago I suffered from a form of heart trouble which, for three and a half years, seemed to give me a great sense of weakness, the attacks coming without any warning. I am so grateful for Mrs. Eddy's wise provision of the Board of Lectureship; for the inspiring words of a lecturer on one occasion completely healed me of this heart trouble, and for the last four years I have been able to lead my usual active life. I am so grateful to Mrs. Eddy for her wonderful book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," and for the wisdom with which she has provided for our daily spiritual needs, leading us on step by step, that we may more fully understand eternal Life, in the study of the Lesson-Sermons, membership with The Mother Church, supporting and reading the periodicals, and also class instruction, thus enabling us to give out in active, loving service to others that which we ourselves are gaining day by day.— Nanaimo, British Columbia, Canada.
