About nineteen years ago Christian Science was brought to my attention by the healing of my wife through reading "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, together with the Lesson-Sermons in the Christian Science Quarterly. At that time she was suffering from a tubercular condition of the throat which medical science had failed to heal, and the last specialist had said it was incurable. She was also suffering from neuritis and nervous hysteria. These conditions were healed after about six months' study of Christian Science.
This led me to investigate Christian Science to learn how reading a book could heal one of physical difficulties. At that time I was addicted to the habit of cigarette smoking, also social drinking. After studying Science and Health together with the Lesson-Sermons for about three months, I was healed, and there has never been a desire to return to these habits. Christian Science has helped me in business, and I have been able to prove the protective power of the Christ, Truth, as revealed to us by Mrs. Eddy in Science and Health. It is indeed a "key" to the Scriptures.
