Christian Science has been my physician and Comforter through many trying experiences. Some healings, among them that of ptomaine poisoning, strained muscles, rheumatism, injuries from falls, have been instantaneous, others have taken longer; but it is with a grateful heart I can say I have spent only one whole day in bed during the eighteen years that I have been studying this Science of being. While I still seem to have some unsolved problems, yet the Comforter is always with me and has never failed to uplift and shield me from the mistakes of this mortal dream. I can truly say with the Psalmist, "The Lord is my strength and my shield." I cannot be grateful enough to our revered Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, for opening my blind eyes to enable me to enjoy and understand the truths of the Bible; for though I had read it a great deal in former years, its promises were not considered the present and provable help I now know them to be.
I am grateful for membership in The Mother Church and a branch church, also for class instruction; especially do I appreciate the Reading Rooms, which have given me many hours of much needed retreat from the cares of the world in an atmosphere of peace and serenity, removing a persistent sense of loneliness.—Seattle, Washington
