In gratitude for all that Christian Science has done for me in the past sixteen years I submit this testimony.
At the time I took up the study of Christian Science I had been given only a short time to live by a physician who had exhausted his skill in trying to relieve a stomach trouble from which I had been suffering for several years. He advised a surgical operation as a last experiment; but this proved, like the rest of the treatment, of no avail, and I returned home a few weeks after undergoing it, a physical and mental wreck. It was in this condition that I turned to Christian Science a few months later and was quickly healed.
For this healing I was very grateful, but I was more grateful for the loan of a copy of the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, because in it I found what I had been wanting from early childhood—a logical, understandable explanation of God and man's relationship to Him; and thus began my regeneration from a narrow, unhappy existence into one of joyous usefulness.
