Words cannot express my gratitude for the healing truth which has been revealed to me through Christian Science. Over eleven years ago Christian Science was brought to my notice. For eight years previous to that time I had been in poor health, suffering from nervous exhaustion, mental depression, insomnia, loss of appetite and flesh, and many other ills; in fact, I did not know a well day in eight years. During this time several physicians were consulted, and each gave a new ray of hope, which in time died out, with no relief. A physical culture course was resorted to and faithfully applied for six months, with exercise and diet, but no relief was obtained.
At last, seeking comfort from the Bible, I found there so many things I could not understand. I then turned to the great Physician in prayer, knowing that only God was left, and in all humility asked Him to lead the way. Although I knew nothing of Christian Science at that time, in a few days I was led to borrow a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. It was indeed a spring of life in the desert of human hopes. I devoured its contents like one who was famished and thirsty, and I soon noticed that I was sleeping all night without the use of the drug which had been taken for years.
As the truth, as revealed by Mrs. Eddy, took the place of false mortal beliefs, the many ills left almost unnoticed. Supply has come to me as I have learned to seek "first the kingdom of God;" and in the degree that I have realized the impersonal sense of Love and learned to wait on divine Mind's guidance, have I been able to help my brother. I am so grateful for having had class instruction early in my experience from a loving, loyal teacher of Christian Science. For these and many more proofs of God's protecting care I am indeed grateful.— Boston, Massachusetts.
