For the past sixteen years I have been so greatly blessed with the abundance of fruitage coming to me regularly through the testimonies in our beloved periodicals that I feel I must contribute one more tithe to the storehouse.
For five years I had suffered from kidney disease. Fear of pain and lack of means kept me from submitting to an operation which was declared necessary before I could ever get well. At last my continued suffering forced me to go through that trying experience. I was promised health and strength in a few months. In six months, however, I was in a worse condition than before the operation.
It was then that a friend who was a student of Christian Science called and advised me to send for a Christian Science practitioner. After the caller left, about four o'clock in the afternoon, the friend who was attending me and I decided to telephone a practitioner whom I knew and ask her to come to see me. The practitioner could not come, but promised to give me an absent treatment at once. She also told my friend to prepare me for the night about nine o'clock and then go home and leave me alone. Within an hour after the first treatment I was entirely free from pain, and that night I slept soundly for the first time in many years. The next morning I dressed at the usual time and went back to my work, thereby being able to hold a position I might have lost from continued absence.
