I am sincerely grateful to have found Christian Science, which has pointed out to me the path to health and true peace. About eleven years ago I suffered from an abdominal trouble which on examination the physicians said could be cured only by an operation. However, I could not decide in favor of an operation. Then divine Love led me to Christian Science. I believed at that time that my sick body had to be healed. Soon, however, I learned that I had to clear my thought of all wrong thinking about God, His creation, and man. The pain grew ever more violent, and fear increased. In my extremity I asked a Christian Science practitioner for help. After a fortnight I awakened one morning to find that what was to have been removed by an operation had come away naturally. On that day I was able to attend to all my domestic duties without difficulty, and I have been free from this trouble ever since. I thank God with all my heart for this wonderful healing.
A year later I suffered from severe pain in my back, weakness, and loss of appetite. The least work was a burden to me. I still believed that sickness had to be diagnosed by a physician. The doctor said I had pneumonia and pleurisy, and he prescribed medicine and rest in bed. However, I did not have the prescription filled, but instead went immediately to a practitioner and asked her for help. After a week I was completely freed from this trouble and could do all my housework with ease. These accomplishments were proof to me that I was fully healed.
Since that healing I have never needed a physician, but our Father-mother God has been and is my only helper and healer. Through the application of Christian Science I was healed almost instantaneously of an abscess on my neck. Also, ever present divine Love has been a constant help to us in the demonstration of supply.
