I am writing this testimony to express my gratitude for the many healings I have had in my years of study of Christian Science. My grandfather was a minister of a Protestant church, and, of course, we children attended the Sunday school. As I grew older I could not believe the teachings of that religion, for I did not seem able to put it into practice or demonstrate it. As I looked around me, I saw that neither did others. I stopped attending and looked no further, thinking that there really was no God, until Christian Science was presented to me by a friend.
Up to that time I had no idea that Christian Science was a religion. In two weeks I was healed of barber's itch by Christian Science treatment from the lady who first told me about. it. That was the start, and from then on I knew there was a God. I have been healed of influenza, the tobacco, liquor, and gambling habits, quick temper, revengeful thoughts, and of many other things. Since the first healing I can truthfully say I have never taken medicine.
I want to say how grateful I am that more and more in our profession (the theatrical business) are coming into Christian Science. I am also grateful for the work of the Distribution Committees in putting the Journals Sentinels, and Monitors in the Christian Science racks back-stage, where we can read while staying in the theater between shows. I have been protected in many ways, both in health and in business; and in the thirty-one years of my study of Christian Science I have never missed a performance or a train, nor have I been late for either.
