In September, 1918, when I was discouraged, sick, and unhappy, Christian Science was presented to me. It was then that the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, became a close companion. Many small physical ailments began to fall away, and my outlook on life began to undergo a change. From an early age I had suffered from eye trouble, and I had worn glasses for nearly fifteen years. One morning in July following the beginning of my study, I awoke to the knowledge that my eyes were healed. My gratitude to God and to our Leader was beyond expression.
As the years went by I began to know God as Love. I am so grateful for my physical healing, for the overcoming of fear, and for the love in my heart for all of God's children; also for the privilege of class instruction and membership in The Mother Church and a branch church.— Portland, Oregon.
