Hon. Ralph O. Brewster, LL. D., C. S., of Dexter, Maine, is a native of that town and there received his early education. Later he graduated from Bowdoin College and from Harvard Law School, and in 1928 received the honorary degree of LL. D., from the University of Maine. Mr. Brewster served his country during the world war, and he has served his state in various capacities, including those of Representative to the Legislature, Senator, and from 1925 to 1929 as Governor. For years former Governor Brewster has been a practicing attorney in Maine. He was chairman of the Governors' Conference in 1926.
In 1919 Mr. Brewster became a member of The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston. He has served his branch church, First Church, Portland, Maine, as First Reader, and is now an active member of the Christian Science Society of Dexter, Maine, which he helped to organize.
Gordon V. Comer, C. S., of Denver, Colorado, was born in Frederick, Rice County, Kansas. When he was very young, Mr. Comer's family moved to western Kansas, where they remained until 1900, at which time they moved to Denver. Mr. Comer received his education in the public schools in Kansas and Colorado, supplementing his school work with private instruction in business courses and in special subjects.
