Testimonies of Healing

The study of Christian Science...

From the July 1932 issue of The Christian Science Journal

The study of Christian Science has taught me how to turn to God in every difficulty. As I have learned the truths about God and man, His image and likeness, and have applied them, my every need has been met. One of my first healings was of warts on my hand. Before studying Christian Science I had been doctoring them over a year, having them burned at stated intervals. Later I worked to remove these warts through my slight understanding of Christian Science. I tried to remove something I believed was real, and I watched daily to see them grow smaller; but there was no change. Through further study I learned to look only to God, and to dismiss the body from my thought entirely. A short time later someone called my attention to the fact that there was no trace of warts on my hand. I had not been conscious of them from the time I looked for the light instead of watching for the darkness to disappear. I have also been healed of periodic sick headaches, sprained ankle, stomach trouble, colds, and fears of many descriptions.

When our little daughter was born, the physician who was in attendance in accordance with the laws of the state was very fearful and predicted many unpleasant things. None of these things came about, and the demonstration of the power of Truth was beautiful. Recently, in the coming of a little son, Christian Science kept me free from all the discordant beliefs mortal mind associates with childbirth, and the period was one of great joy, comfort, and increased realization of God as Father-Mother.

I am grateful to Mary Baker Eddy, who, through her consecrated endeavors, interpreted for all posterity the spiritual understanding which God gave to her. I am grateful for the periodicals and for membership in The Mother Church and a loyal branch church. I am also grateful to the practitioners who are always so loving and faithful in helping us to understand God and our relation to Him. Words seem so inadequate; I can best express my gratitude for Christian Science by daily living the truths I am learning.—
