I am deeply grateful to Christian Science for all the good it has brought into my life. Not only have I been healed physically, but I have also become more happy and hopeful.
From 1925 on I struggled with many forms of illness. At that time I underwent an operation for appendicitis; then in 1927 there followed an operation for inflammation of the gall bladder; and later I contracted inflammation of the veins, so that I could not walk at all for a number of years. Again, in 1930, I had to undergo an operation for intestinal abscess, the physician saying that the trouble was chronic and incurable.
In that year I learned of Christian Science. I at once bought myself the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. My earnest study soon resulted in my being able to walk more easily, but there still remained much error to overcome. A dear friend therefore advised me to go to Hamburg to a Christian Science practitioner, and I was ready to do so at once. By means of the practitioner's kindly, loving explanations of Christian Science and several treatments I was very soon free from my troubles, so that I could again carry on my profession which I had given up.
