How very gratifying to read some...

From the October 1934 issue of The Christian Science Journal

How very gratifying to read sometimes in our Journal and Sentinel testimonies from graduate medical nurses, who, through Christian Science, have learned what constitutes true healing! I know how helpless and dissatisfied I often felt in caring for the physical body only, and how I longed to make my patients more hopeful and happier. Because I know I have found the "pearl of great price," and because I have derived wonderful blessings from Christian Science, I am adding my testimony to those of the multitudes who have found freedom through its teachings.

A physical condition which had not been cured by a major or by several minor operations, and which had necessitated my trying every known remedy with only temporary relief, had left the constant fear of its inevitable return. This condition showed me more and more how mental it really was. I saw this also in all conditions of my patients. Therefore when there seemed nothing more to try I visited a Christian Science practitioner, who helped me immediately to recognize the illness to be mental not physical.

I was convinced that Christian Science was my remedy. Although I had been studying the textbook and also had been having help from a practitioner, my healing came slowly, inasmuch as I continued work for almost a year as head nurse in a medical institution. After that I felt that I could not do any more medical nursing. I went to a city where I was not known and began at once to do Christian Science nursing. I was constantly busy and felt free, joyful, and peaceful.
