It is with great gratitude that I wish to tell of my healing through Christian Science. I was stricken with influenza during a so-called epidemic, which left me an invalid for nearly seven years. I was unable to walk for three months, and even then my husband and the nurse had to teach me how to walk again. The physician attending me stated that I should always suffer with this disease from September to May unless I went south every winter. Since this was impossible for me to do, I submitted myself to the injection of living bacteria into an arm every month. As I received no benefit whatever from these injections, the doctor again advised me to go to Florida if I expected to live through the winter.
In my despair I began to seek help elsewhere. While I was studying what my next move would be, the thought of Christian Science came to me, as well as the name of a friend who is a Christian Scientist. I communicated with this person and asked what steps I should take in order to receive Christian Science treatment. This information was lovingly given me, and that evening I called upon a practitioner. After talking with her for about an hour or so, I left feeling as though a huge burden had been lifted from my shoulders. I also found that my arm, which up to this time had been crippled, was completely healed. It was but a short time afterward that I was entirely free from this disease.
I have always been a Bible student, but after taking up the study of Christian Science, I found a new concept of God and a new sense of the Bible, for Science explained the Scriptures as I had not known them before. After learning something of the truth about God, I found myself progressing rapidly in solving other problems.
