Many years ago I heard my mother mention Christian Science, and later the subject was brought up in a Sunday school class which I attended. The desire which, we are told on page 1 of the textbook, "is prayer" was born in my consciousness to know and understand something of this religion. Later this book was asked for and received from a loving friend, and I can say that the study of it in connection with the Bible has overcome many ills.
When I first began to study this Science I was healed of an organic trouble. Our family physician had told me that I should never be strong unless I submitted to an operation. Although I was so miserable and discouraged, my dominant thought was to get a better understanding of God, and while I was working to that end my healing took place. Our little girl, then four years old, was healed very quickly of a gathering in the head, and later of many so-called children's diseases. One cannot study sincerely and apply the truth without seeing discordant conditions overcome and harmony restored.
Christian Science means everything to me, and I am deeply grateful that I now know something of the joy and peace that attend a life of prayer. Each activity of our Cause offers opportunity for service and growth; and class instruction has given me a broader, clearer view of spiritual things. Christian Science has enabled me to understand more truly the life and work of Christ Jesus, our Way-shower; and I am sincerely grateful to its Discoverer and Founder, Mary Baker Eddy, Truth's messenger to the world.—Beatrice, Nebraska.
