Reading the word "conjunctivitis" brought to my thought a healing I had four years ago, when Christian Science first became known to me. I had suffered for a number of years with this most distressing disease, which recurred regularly every November, each time becoming worse. The pain was so great that for weeks and sometimes months I would be completely blind and would have to stay in bed. The whole thing made me very ill. The specialists I consulted said that there was no cure, that I should always suffer from it, and that I should gradually lose my sight. I also had to wear dark glasses. I was a trained nurse and fully believed all this. But what a joy! It is four years since I had the last attack, and I know that I shall not have another, for I have been healed in Christian Science. My medical experience is passing from me in the finding of a better faith — a faith in God, who heals all our sicknesses.
Through a great kindness rendered me by an utter stranger, which caused me to inquire what manner of man he was, I came in contact with Christian Science, and found that he was a Christian Scientist. That kindness paved the way to many other blessings.
I have had many problems solved, including the finding of employment for my two sons, and the overcoming of a series of financial troubles which were causing me great anxiety. For all this I am very grateful to God; and to our Leader for finding this great truth for all mankind; and especially to the kindly practitioners and friends in Christian Science who have so generously helped me in every need. — London.
