WORK

From the May 1934 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Work is a very lovely thing, and joyous!
To see the truth unfolding to the thought,
Activity responding through the hand,
As in the Sun of righteousness expand
The purposes of God, with wonder wrought.
The burden drops into obscurity
When man as God's reflection we can see.
"My Father worketh hitherto, and I work"!

Work is a very lovely thing, and present!
The message, weary searcher, is for you —
For in the Father's business, you stand,
Alert to give, or wait, at His command.
Depression never robbed you of your due.
The mists may claim to hide the sun from sight —
His rays are shining ever, day and night.
"My Father worketh hitherto, and I work"!

Work is a very lovely thing, and perfect!
Therefore, O you of many tasks, be still.
In perfect poise expressing perfect man,
Behold the great I AM unfold His plan.
In Jesus' way, then rise to do His will —
And so, abiding in eternal Mind,
All sowing, growth, and harvest you will find.
"My Father worketh hitherto, and I work"!
