I wish to express my appreciation and deep gratitude for Christian Science. When it found me I was discouraged and hopeless. Some years previously death had claimed a loved one in spite of all that the best human skill and love could do. Again "the last enemy" threatened, and I turned for comfort to Christian Science, and learned, first and foremost, that this teaching is truly the Comforter, because a load which seemed physical as well as mental was lifted almost immediately.
I next thought, I will put Christian Science to the test regarding physical healing. For over a year I had suffered from a painful eruption on the inner side of my nostrils and had great fear concerning it, although I did not consult a doctor, having through previous experiences lost all faith in materia medica. I consulted a Christian Science practitioner, however, who told me that the truth in "the scientific statement of being" in Science and Health, page 468, would chase away the fear when it gripped me. I wondered how this could be, but I was obedient, and with glorious results, for I was healed before I reached home.
Since then I have had two children born with Christian Science treatment, and I can testify to its wonderful help and protection. In times of stress and strain I have felt God very near, and time and again this truth has borne me above the turmoil and clamor of error.
