It is with deep gratitude that I wish to testify to all the good that has come to my family and me through the study and application of Christian Science. While I was in the army in 1918 my wife took up the study of this Science, and when I returned home in 1919 I began studying the Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly and attending church with her. I had no desire to attend the church of which I had been a member at one time, as it did not appeal to me any more. In the following year my wife was healed completely, after two doctors had said that she would never walk again, from conditions arising from childbirth. In less than two weeks she was walking anywhere she wanted to go. After this I studied Christian Science more earnestly than before.
Since then I have been healed of the tobacco habit, after being addicted to it for twenty-five years; also of the use of profane language. I have also been healed of sick headaches, which lasted two or three days at a time, and of quinsy.
A few years ago I had a severe pain in my side and back, for which I had Christian Science treatment. Later the pain reappeared, work was again taken up and the pain left. Again it came back, much more severe and in spells about two weeks apart. Work was taken up more earnestly than ever. I began to study further about God and man's relationship to Him. One morning after one of these spells lasting all night a gallstone passed from me, and since then there has been no sign of the pains. I know that this healing is permanent, as there has been no return of the trouble.
