After all the healings and blessings which have come my way through Christian Science, some through my small understanding, others through a practitioner's help, I feel it my privilege to acknowledge some of them. After the passing on of a small daughter in 1912, kind neighbors advised me to send for the German translation of Science and Health. After learning enough of the English I started to study the Lesson Sermon from the Christian Science Quarterly, and received help.
One day one little girl caught a finger in a door which the wind had blown shut. After hearing her scream and seeing the finger, I wrapped it up, repeated the Lord's Prayer over and over, and carried her to a neighbor's, where I meant to get help; but before we got there the condition was healed. Another child was helped in working out her arithmetic problems. In 1918, during the so-called influenza epidemic, two members of the family were wonderfully and quickly healed and the rest protected from the disease.
In 1926 I had a healing after being thrown from a haystack. The pain seemed more than I could bear. After one treatment I got relief, and in a week I was able to attend to all household duties. While the last two confinement cases were not painless, I felt so well immediately afterward that I did not stay in bed for even one meal, and after the last case I did much housework right away, and attended to all my work from the third day on. At the recent sudden passing on of a dear one I felt thankful for the love and help received through Christian Science. I am grateful also for membership in The Mother Church and a Christian Science Society, and especially for our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, and all the activities of the Christian Science organization.—Roundup, Montana.
