I should like to give my testimony as to the healing efficacy of Christian Science and express my unlimited gratitude for the many healings, blessings, and experiences of protection which I, as well as other members of my family, have experienced.
After one has relied wholly, for twenty-five years, on either his own or a practitioner's understanding of God, he cannot remain long under any false illusion of fear or doubt that his present problem will not be solved. There is a correct solution for every problem, and it is always satisfying, and blesses all concerned.
An experience of mine brings this out. While I was on my first visit to California, at about two-thirty one morning a condition presented itself to me for acceptance or rejection. My own diagnosis was acute appendicitis, with all the extreme fear that my acceptance of that suggestion brought with it. Because I did not know any of the local practitioners, my son, my daughter, and I worked vigorously until daylight with apparently no results. At that time my son went some distance and sent a telegram to a practitioner in the East in whom I had a great deal of confidence. The answer came that under the circumstances it would be better for me to get a practitioner near by. This seemed the last straw; but after arguing for some time as to whom I might call, I decided that I must do my own work. The three of us studied and worked the very best we knew how, and the assurance came that God was there, just as loving and omnipotent; that He was "no respecter of persons," and answered the prayers of all His children. Healing was soon manifested, and the second day I was able to go out with friends as had been planned.
