In love and gratitude to God and to Mrs. Eddy, the interpreter of Jesus' beautiful teaching, I wish to tell of some of the benefits I have received from Christian Science.
I had been suffering from asthma and chronic bronchitis for twentysix years, and in the latter part of that time valvular heart disease set in. I traveled from place to place seeking my health through climates and the help of doctors, but this was of no avail. I was a stranger in the city at the time, and the doctor said that I could not live there, that I must leave at once. At this time I had no means to go on and had four children who were depending on me for support. It was in this dark hour that Christian Science was brought to me. I accepted it gladly, and was grateful to hear its good message, since material aids had failed.
A practitioner was called. He told me that God is Love, who gives all good to His children, "who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases." He also told me that all things are possible with God, and that I could be a well woman. He was the first one who ever told me that I could be well. In a few weeks I was healed of the asthma. Then I laid the books aside and did not read.
