It is with a heart full of love and a deep feeling of gratitude to our beloved Leader that I give my testimony of the healing and regenerating power of Christian Science.
Over fifteen years ago I had my first experience of the power of Truth to heal. Five years previous to this I had injured my heart in such a way that according to medical belief I would remain an invalid for life. A very dear friend who was greatly worried about my condition and had heard of healing being done through Christian Science, thought it might help me, and so borrowed the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and brought it to me to read.
I shall never forget that first reading. I felt that here at last I had found a religion which recognized God as good only, and not as both good and evil. I saw something of the allness, the love, and the goodness of God, and therefore the utter impossibility of His having made a sick woman. I closed the book and stood up suddenly, and in doing so turned my heel and fell to the ground. My first thought was, Now I am finished; but on top of that came the thought, No, I can't be hurt, for God is my Life. I then got up, and found that I was healed. That same evening I walked up several flights of stairs without the slightest effort, and from that day on I have been able to lead a normal, active life.
