SEEKING A HOME

From the March 1935 issue of The Christian Science Journal

To many people today the problem of finding a suitable home presents itself for solution. What does the great Master say on the subject of home? In simple language he states: "In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you."

Jesus knew his Father, God, as no other has ever known Him. He so clearly knew Life to be entirely spiritual that through this understanding disease vanished into nothingness and the dead were raised to life. Since out of his clear thinking he could say, "I go to prepare a place for you," it is evident that he saw this place as already established in the infinite, all-embracing Mind. The only preparation needed, and indeed possible, is the preparation of the heart to understand that man is now and forever in the place prepared for him from the foundation of the world.

Where is this place? In the Father's house of many mansions. Is this concept too visionary for an everyday, material world? No, it is the most practical answer to mankind's question of how and where to find a satisfactory home.
