Through a better understanding of God, Christian Science has been revealing health, harmony, and true happiness to me in increasing measure for over twenty-three years. Our Leader writes in Science and Health (p. 444), "Step by step will those who trust Him find that 'God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.'" I have verified that statement in the healings of fear, nervousness, neuralgia, influenza, weak eyes, periods of depression, injured spinal vertebra, abscessed ears, resentment, and self-pity.
The experiences of childbirth were periods of overcoming, breaking and annulling many so-called laws and racial beliefs. Many so-called children's diseases have been quickly and successfully healed in our family. At the spoken word of Truth, sprained ankle, earache, ten warts on one hand, pink eye, measles, stomachache, and numerous pains and fears instantaneously vanished. A severe case of bronchitis was completely healed in less than a day when the desire to see a physical change for the better was replaced with the understanding that my only need or desire was for the true consciousness of the unchanging perfection of man as the image and likeness of God. This realization brought complete harmony immediately, and the little one, who had been moaning in a stupor, sat up in bed and laughed heartily. I dressed her, and she went about playing the rest of the day.
I do not have words to express my gratitude for all the blessings I have received through the ministrations of Christian Science. Neither could I tell of all the healings, and of the spiritual regeneration and exaltation that has taken place in my consciousness; but I wish to give thanks for all of them, and especially for the privilege of serving mankind and the Cause of Christian Science; for the joys and benefits of many years in the Sunday school, as pupil and later as teacher; for membership in The Mother Church and a branch church; for class instruction, and for the Association meetings. I thank God for the Bible and its "key," Science and Health, and for the Manual of The Mother Church by our beloved Leader.— Fort Worth, Texas.
