While I was yet quite new in Science, our daughter was born. The doctor, who knew I was having a Christian Science practitioner, said that if it had not been for my faith the baby would not have lived. Later I found out that she had told a member of my family that it would be one chance in a thousand if the child lived. This child is now four years old and healthy. About three years ago she was healed of stomach and bowel trouble, which was followed by conditions similar to pneumonia.
When our son was born, the practitioner and Christian Science nurse were present. The same doctor once again witnessed the work of Truth; but instead of staying five or six hours as she had planned, she was ready to return to her office in less than two hours. Harmony certainly reigned during this experience.
Since then I have had other demonstrations of the healing power of Christian Science. Ivy poisoning was healed within two weeks. Another experience was that of rheumatism in a severe form. The condition lasted for about five weeks, and I am grateful for this, as so much was learned concerning God and His image and likeness during this time. One day when the difficulty seemed at its worst, the words, In God we "live, and move, and have our being," came to me. Immediately I realized that our movements and living and being are perfect, and from that moment I improved.
