Deep gratitude to God for Christian Science impels me to tell of the help it has been to me for over thirty years. Among the early healings I recall that, as I used the little I knew of this truth, fear in various forms, corns, and mumps disappeared. The mumps vanished so quickly that I found it unnecessary to mention the trouble to my mother. With the help of a Christian Science practitioner I have also been healed of measles, chicken pox, scarlet fever, colds, grippe, and typhoid pneumonia. I am thankful not only for the physical healings received during these treatments, but also for the spiritual unfoldment which came during many of them.
About fifteen years ago I had occasion to rejoice in overcoming loss of hair, following a quick recovery from typhoid pneumonia. My hair came out to such an extent that, when several bare places were noticed by others, I went to a Christian Science practitioner for help. She enabled me to lift my thought above sense testimony to the spiritual fact of God's creation. I left her, quite confident that I could apply the truth to the problem. The joy of reversing error with truth permeated my consciousness so that I was no longer discouraged. Five days after this the hair stopped falling out and no loose hair could be brushed out. A few days later a new growth of hair was seen all over the scalp. This growth has continued, so that I have had an abundance of hair ever since.
In proportion as I have depended on divine Mind, I have been aided to reach decisions rightly, and I have found it true that God "guides every event of our careers," as Mrs. Eddy says on page 3 of "Unity of Good." I am grateful that Christian Science shows us how to avail ourselves of God's power at all times.
