I am deeply grateful for Christian Science, for membership in The Mother Church and one of its branches, for the privilege of serving this branch, for the practitioners, and for all the church activities. So many blessings have come to our home as a result of our studying the writings of our beloved Leader, together with the Bible and all the authorized literature published by The Christian Science Publishing Society in Boston, that it is difficult to single out any one healing to tell about.
I have never known any other religion but Christian Science, neither have I ever gone to a doctor for medical treatment. This Science has solved all my problems, mental, physical, and financial. The first healing I recall, brought about in a very short time through the aid of a Christian Science practitioner, was of typhoid fever. Strains, burns, and minor injuries were healed with little or no delay. I was taught in childhood never to fear disease or any other material phenomena.
Regardless of all these proofs of God's power, I still thought, during my high school days, that I needed to smoke to be "one of the boys," and this habit clung tenaciously for nearly twenty years.
