In loving gratitude for all that Christian Science has done for us, I send this testimony of the healing omnipotence of divine Love.
I had been to town to attend several Christian Science lectures, and shortly after my return home I heard my husband calling me and knew by his voice that he needed help. He came on to the veranda and I saw he was covered with bees. As I opened the door for him to come in, I audibly declared the truth and the bees left him at once. He walked up and down the room once or twice and I continued voicing the truth. In a minute or two he said, "That is all right," and as he passed me to go out I noticed that his face, neck, and arms were covered with bee stings. He was out all the afternoon and there were many bees about bothering the natives, but they did not touch him again. Later he said, "That was a wonderful experience this afternoon," and we both expressed gratitude.
In the evening, when we were reading the week's Lesson from the Christian Science Quarterly, I noticed that my husband's voice sounded peculiar, and he looked very white. While reading a citation he fell back unconscious. I at once declared the truth. There was no sign of life. I remember that for a moment I felt dreadfully lonely, but I realized I must help, and I prayed to be shown clearly how to work. I was quickly conscious that I must realize God's allness. My efforts seemed weak at first, but gradually the whole room seemed full of His presence, and my husband began to move. His first faltering words were about the Lesson. He could not walk without help. I got him to bed and he asked me to read to him. In a few minutes he was sleeping peacefully. Early next morning he was out and at work, entirely well. It was only after this experience that I was told of what is called "a collapse" after bee stings, which often proves fatal.
