With my heart full of joy and deep gratitude I wish to testify to the healing and restoring power of Christian Science and to the other blessings which it has bestowed upon me.
When I was operated upon in March, 1925, for abdominal cancer, I knew nothing of this wonderful healing and hallowing religion. My hope of being healed by the operation met with disappointment. It was explained to me that my case was incurable since I had come much too late. After I had received medical treatment for almost another year, this disheartening reply was made to my hopeful inquiry whether I might not yet be healed, "Well, not so far as we can see humanly." After this crushing reply I went home and no longer called on the doctor.
My extremity was great, but God, divine Love, was far greater. I was led to a family who directed my attention to Christian Science and lent me a copy of Der Herold. The farther I read in it, the more hopeful and happy I became, until I decided to seek out a practitioner of this Science. In the very first treatment, when she lovingly acquainted me with the truth of being, I was freed from the fearful suffering through the healing power of the Christ. The transformation which took place in my thinking gave me joyous assurance of my healing. The physical manifestation of the disease disappeared. The truth had been so plainly demonstrated to me that I was immediately able to grasp it to a certain extent. In my heart there sang and rang these words from the one hundred and third Psalm: "Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases."
