Christian Science, in bringing the Science of spiritual healing to the world, is bestowing upon mankind the greatest of blessings. Its inspired teaching is renewing hope, casting out fear, bringing comfort to the distressed and sorrowful, bestowing health upon those who, through understanding, come within its beneficent influence. The world is sorely in need of the revelation of Christian Science. Happy are they who, awakening from the dream of materiality, perceive the heavenly evangel at their door; for Christian Science is indeed the Comforter promised by Christ Jesus.
Christian Science, then, is declaring the truth about God and His creation, revealing the nature of God and His creation in language understandable by all. It is telling us that God is infinite and perfect Mind or Spirit, and that His creation is the reflection of Himself. Thus Christian Science is the truth of being, bringing to men the knowledge of God and His manifestation, man.
It is important that the student should see the necessity of gaining an understanding of God. For unless he gains it he will fail to perceive how scientifically to meet and overcome the difficulties which beset a material or mortal sense of existence. But when he understands what Christian Science teaches; when he knows its Principle and rules and how these rules are to be applied, he is in possession of the method whereby all manner of sickness can be healed and all manner of sin overcome. Those who know the Principle and rules of Christian Science, and have proved the efficacy of these rules in the healing of disease and sin, are certain that they possess that which, when clearly enough understood, will overcome even the belief of death.
