I have had many convincing proofs of God's presence and protection through the study and application of Christian Science.
One specific healing for which I am grateful is that of blood poisoning, which appeared in both legs of our three-months-old son. I realized that I had too much fear to be able to handle the condition myself, so a practitioner was called. Mrs. Eddy says in Science and Health (pp. 411, 412), "If you succeed in wholly removing the fear, your patient is healed." We proved this true, for by the next morning the healing was complete.
At another time this same baby's leg seemed to lose all strength and would crumple up under him when he tried to walk. Much fear was again experienced, but an article in the Journal showed me clearly that God never created any condition of which I could be afraid. A realization of this fact so destroyed the fear this time that the child was healed in a few minutes.
