Christian science has brought me so many blessings that I feel I must express my appreciation of them.
Eleven years ago I was sick in body and thought; many kinds of discord were being manifested in our home. Both my husband and I were to undergo operations at about the same time. We had two little girls at this time, and I was unable to lift the baby, who was then only a few months old. My mother had heard of Christian Science and told me to try it. She said that she knew it could not hurt me, and it might do good. I called on a practitioner, who asked me to read the Bible and "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. I had left her house and was almost home before I realized I had pushed the large baby carriage about fourteen blocks without experiencing pain. I read from the Bible and textbook as I had been told to do, and on the third day I realized that I was healed. I felt as if I were walking on air all that day. It had always been a pleasure to do my work, but I had been deprived of this for a long time. I washed, mopped, ironed, cleaned house, went to town, and did everything that I had not been able to do. Such a load was lifted; I was free !
The birth of my next baby was very inharmonious. I did not rely on Christian Science and experienced great difficulty; but since then, when every material evidence indicated that an even more inharmonious childbirth was to be expected, through reliance on Christian Science it proved to be natural and practically painless. We have been healed of many things, among them crushed fingers, burns, eczema, colds, constipation, and influenza. Inharmonious conditions in the home have steadily improved until it is not like the same place. I should also like to mention that although our salary has been cut more than half, we have more than we ever had before, showing that God, not matter, is our source of supply.
