All human needs Thy love will ever meet:
Father, engraft this truth within our heart,
That we from Thee can never dwell apart.
True man—Thine image—perfect, whole, complete,
Suffers no lack. This mortal counterfeit,
This mortal self that seems to bear the smart
Of limitation, is but a base upstart,
Not Love's true child with Christliness replete.
But even as Jesus came in human guise,
A tender babe, growing in truth and grace,
Until the very glory of God's face
Brought forth the Christ, and opened paradise
For all mankind, so Science makes us prove
We are partakers of the selfsame Love.
