THE CHRISTIAN SCIENCE ORGANIZATION

From the February 1937 issue of The Christian Science Journal

The Christian Science organization has never been better understood or more strongly entrenched than it is today. The last Annual Meeting of The Mother Church hinted the strength and perpetuity of the Christian Science movement. Its bulwarks are impregnable, its fortifications indestructible.

Zion's very prosperity makes her a target for envy and hatred. Christian Scientists, therefore, should understand fully the subject of church organization, the reasons for membership in it, and the basis for their hearty support of the institution that is helping them unfold to true selfhood. Because some students of Christian Science have failed to awaken to the truth about church, they are members neither of a branch church nor of The Mother Church. These shut themselves out of the benefits and blessings of church membership.

Dissatisfaction with and vain attacks upon Mrs. Eddy's church organization have no justification in the logic of events. Mrs. Eddy faced these problems, and our present church government is the child of her spiritual thought in the hard school of experience and scientific demonstration. It is certain that only the highest inspiration, the most profound realization and the clearest scientific demonstration of its God-ordained and heavenly-inspired Leader could have brought forth the present Christian Science organization.
