I am very grateful for what Christian Science has done for my family and for me. We have had many proofs of its healing power.
Among our children there have been healings of whooping cough, a crushed thumb, abscesses, and boils, also of a broken collar bone that a specialist said would have to be set. This last healing came through the help of a Christian Science practitioner and the absolute acknowledgment of the power and ever-presence of the one infinite Mind.
Another proof of God's care and protection came to us when we were in a flood. It took us three days and two nights to get out of the valley onto the mountain. All this time destruction surrounded us, the water rising so high at times that it came into the car; but by seeking divine guidance we were able to pass through it all without being harmed by it. I prayed earnestly, thanking God each mile of the way. During this experience we were told that it was impossible for us to get to our destination by way of the flooded road we were on, but knowing that "with God all things are possible," we were led to safety through a cattle path. When we reached the end of this path a farmer said, "You must have come through on the arm of the Lord!" which indeed we had. "The Lord's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save."
