I caught my first glimpse of Christian Science about twenty-five years ago. At that time a son, about seven years old, was healed of inflammatory rheumatism. I then procured a copy of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, and gained a slight understanding of its teachings, but it was not until five years ago that I took up Science in earnest. At that time I had contracted what the medical profession called an incurable disease, and was taken to a hospital, where all was done for me that kind physicians and hospital attendants could do. At the end of three weeks I was no better and was taken home. A friend who was a Christian Scientist came to see me, and I asked him for help, which was lovingly given, with the result that my difficulty vanished and since then I have enjoyed the best of health. I have had wonderful protection in an automobile accident, and blessings too numerous to mention.
Christian Science has given me a new outlook on life: in place of unhappiness and discontent, it has given me happiness and contentment, and an understanding that life is really worth living. I am thankful for membership in The Mother Church; for Mrs. Eddy and for all she has brought to the world; for the literature, and for the Board of Directors, who so faithfully serve the Cause which our Leader established. I am thankful, too, for all her writings. From their daily study I am learning to live as our Master and our beloved Leader taught us to live.—Hallock, Minnesota.
