I want to express my gratitude for progress during the ten years I have studied Christian Science, also for six years of Sunday school, which I have enjoyed immensely. I have had many difficulties to overcome. Some of my healings have been instantaneous and others have been slow. I am also grateful for the radio programs that come over the air each day. Many of my healings have come to me through my listening to the programs.
About two years ago I noticed that my left eye would sometimes turn outward when the right eye was straight. I had to read the Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly with one eye. My family, who are not Christian Scientists, insisted that I go to an eye doctor. Being a student of Christian Science I would not listen at the time, but studied, on page 586 of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, the definition of "eyes," as follows: "Spiritual discernment, —not material but mental. Jesus said, thinking of the outward vision, 'Having eyes, see ye not?' (Mark viii. 18.)" Two months later I went to an eye doctor against my will, because of my family's demands. Before I went I did some prayerful work, knowing that God is ever present, and that there is only right vision. During the examination I had a dear friend doing some mental work for me. After the doctor examined my eyes he said: "This girl is doing the best thing by using Christian Science. Glasses will not help."
With the continued help of this Science I can say I now have very good vision. My eyes are straight, and they have remained so since the healing was completed, over a year and a half ago. That is only one of the blessings I have had during the study of Christian Science.
