CHRISTIAN SCIENTISTS have been the recipients of numerous blessings through their understanding of Christian Science. A better sense of health has come to many of them. Others have experienced relief from poignant sorrow, escape from degrading sin, or freedom from the dread resulting from fear of lack. No one who understands the teaching of Christian Science can fail to benefit thereby. Accordingly, gratitude is invariably felt and freely expressed by every genuine Christian Scientist.
Gratitude on the Christian Scientist's part is closely allied to a keen sense of duty. The fact of his having received so much benefit, while it stimulates his gratitude, also kindles his desire to be loyal to the teaching which brought about the benefit. And loyalty in this regard includes steadfast faithfulness to the law of God, spiritual law, which Christian Science so clearly reveals, as well as obedience to the admonitions of Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, for whose wisdom he has a profound respect.
In the very forefront of the teaching of Christian Science is the truth that God is infinite, All-in-all, and that He is good. From this there follows the inevitable conclusion that harmony is real and inharmony unreal. No matter what the material senses may seem to argue to the contrary, the eternal truth remains that harmony alone is real. With this great spiritual truth before him, what should the Christian Scientist at all times do? He should voice and accentuate harmony.
