"THE GUEST OF GOD"*

From the April 1938 issue of The Christian Science Journal

This is today:
To waken to the dawn of Truth's clear beam,
And, as its light dispels earth's shadows, sing;
Sing, till a gladness like the noonday sun
Fills all my world, and every doubt takes wing.

I cannot toil the burdened hours away;
I am "the guest of God." This is His day.

This is tonight:
To feel Love's presence in the quiet hour;
To know my brother's need fulfilled in rest;
In gratitude and peace of work well done
To seek my Father's house, protected, blessed.

There is no hour of darkness in His sight.
I, as "the guest of God," rest in His might.
