TRUE RICHES

From the April 1938 issue of The Christian Science Journal

I would grow rich in grace, dear God,
In Christian virtues true;
I would reflect the Christlike touch
In all I say and do.

I would grow rich in love, dear God,
In tender, gentle ways;
In sweet compassion, mercy, peace,
I would perfect Thy praise.

I would grow rich in truth, dear God,
In wisdom and in power,
That I might prove Thy presence near
Through every fruitful hour.

I would grow rich in life, dear God,
In holy thoughts divine.
With treasures such as these, dear God,
What greater wealth than mine?
