When I first heard of Christian Science I was sorely in need of spiritual understanding. I was poverty-stricken, had atheistic leanings and poor health. When Christian Science came to my notice, I instantly realized that it was the truth, and began to apply it. Our two babies and I were healed through my reading the literature, the ninety-first Psalm, and "the scientific statement of being" from page 468 of the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy.
When my mother passed on suddenly, I began consecrated, systematic study of the Lesson-Sermons in the Christian Science Quarterly, was healed of grief, and was enabled to move to a town where I could attend church services and send the children to Sunday school. More recently, by applying the truth, I was beautifully protected from prolonged grief when one whom I considered my dearest, lifelong friend passed on.
My immediate family have experienced many healings, physical, financial, and moral, and have proved the truth of Mrs. Eddy's statement in the textbook (p. 261), "Hold thought steadfastly to the enduring, the good, and the true, and you will bring these into your experience proportionably to their occupancy of your thoughts."
