EASE OF DEMONSTRATION

From the September 1939 issue of The Christian Science Journal

IF we are convinced that the spiritual method of healing is easy, this assurance will aid us in handling error successfully. If we believe that Christian Science is hard to demonstrate, our first consideration should be to overcome this erroneous belief through consecrated mental work. Man expresses spiritual truth in accordance with the law of God. Consequently, if we are tempted to think it hard to demonstrate this truth, we not only deny the omnipotence of God and His law, but we deny our true selves.

Are there hard cases? According to mortal mind, there seem to be. Human opinion contends that some forms of error are easy to overcome, that other forms can be overcome by the use of will power, or even by ignoring them, while others still are incurable. But these are false claims of mortal mind. God does not support them.

Error is unreal, since God, good, is All-in-all. The scientific fact is, that Truth knows no error. Mary Baker Eddy gives us a helpful admonition in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures." She writes (p. 264), "We must look where we would walk, and we must act as possessing all power from Him in whom we have our being."
