THE CHURCH OF CHRIST, SCIENTIST

From the September 1939 issue of The Christian Science Journal

THE book of Proverbs says of a man, "As he thinketh in his heart, so is he." A man's thinking affects his whole experience. Therefore, since spiritual thinking is the supremely vital element, how grateful we are for Christian Science and for The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, with all its branches and activities, continuously calling us to higher demonstrations!

Observing from universal evidence that what we need is right thinking, we see what a marvelous provision for our welfare is this church organization ! The living purpose of Christian Science is to awaken us from the sloth of wrong believing into the joy and freedom and dominion of right knowing—knowing the truth about God and man—which belong to all the children of God.

An impressive statement by Mary Baker Eddy is found on page 342 of "The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany." "The continuity of The Church of Christ, Scientist," she says, "is assured."
