I am very grateful for Christian Science, and for being able to prove that there is a way out of every human difficulty through the application of the rules given us by Mary Baker Eddy, our beloved and inspired Leader.
I have experienced what, to human sense, would be called miracles in the solving of financial problems, instantaneous healings of colds, healings of an irritation of the skin, indigestion, rheumatic pains, very painful stoppage of the natural functioning of the kidneys and intestines, and the overcoming of a condition of the ears and the eyes which had frightened me. Many months passed before the last-mentioned difficulty responded to treatment, and much consecrated work on the part of the practitioner was required before the complete healing was accomplished. No pain was felt in the setting of a wrist broken in two places, and the recovery was so rapid that the surgeon gave great praise and credit to Christian Science.
I am grateful for protection in connection with a runaway polo pony, whose speed and strength made him an outstanding figure in the British-American polo matches of the year. Not being used to a side saddle, the pony must have been frightened by it, and he bolted with me through heavily wooded country where the branches of the trees were so thick that I was forced to bend over his withers to keep my head from being crushed. I was declaring all the time, however, that man is indestructible, and that God is omnipresent and omnipotent.
