I have a Friend that daily walks with me,
Who thought to tread alone a weary road.
I have a Friend whom others may not see,
And yet He dwells with me in my abode.
I have a Friend so calm, serenely kind,
A strength infallible on which to lean.
Walking, conversing with omniscient Mind,
My life is sweet and sane, joyous, serene.
I thought to walk a way forlorn and wide;
It shines with light—my Friend is by my side.
