One of my earliest recollections is that of seeing a woman seated by my mother's bed, urging her to repeat the Lord's Prayer aloud. My mother repeated the prayer, although her lips could scarcely form the words. Later I learned that my mother had suffered a nervous collapse, and was at the point of passing on when this Christian Science friend came in. My mother was completely healed, and lived to bless my life and that of many others. This healing occurred many years ago.
Through the intervening years Christian Science has been of inestimable value in solving the problems which have presented themselves, whether physical, moral, or financial. Healings of sick headaches, grippe, ptomaine poisoning, a severe case of influenza, and many other ailments, have been witnessed in the home. Through a knowledge of the teachings of the Science of Christianity I feel I am learning to be a better and more tolerant member of society; human relationships have been made more harmonious, and it has been possible to release loved ones with the confident assurance that divine Love guards, guides, and governs all His children. The teachings of Christian Science have enabled me to unsee the false claims of racial and social differences and traits, through the knowledge of the one creator and creation, one Mind and His ideas, one cause and one effect, thus making it possible for good, honesty, justice, and so on, to be manifest in daily experience.
In rapid succession came the passing on of my father and the breaking up of our home because of revolution in the country where we were living; but through the knowledge of the ever-presence of God, good, harmony and peace pervaded the years of exile from our home, and after return.
