In loving gratitude for Christian Science, I submit my testimony.
A few years ago I was physically weak and incapacitated, mentally nervous and burdened; was suffering from eyestrain, and wore glasses; was depleted financially, having no visible means of support and living with relatives. I can see now that I was ready for Christian Science, of which I had merely heard. Calling on a friend who lived this Science and was a church member, I asked her to tell me about it. She talked for an hour, while I drank in all she said of the goodness of God. Then she lent me the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, which I gladly took home. As I read, the bonds dropped off. By the time I had finished the book, I was feeling quite well, and those around me saw that this was so. We then moved into a place by ourselves, and my husband was offered a little work along the line for which he was trained. I continued reading and praying, and more employment came for us. I was able to remove my glasses, to do the housework and carry on all normal activities.
Our second child was born very harmoniously through the loving help of a practitioner and a Christian Science nurse. All was joy for me; but soon the little one manifested a condition which was alarming. I worked and prayed, and asked for treatment during many months for her. When I finally realized that God is Love, and that mortal thoughts could do no harm, the child was healed.
