Most of us experience certain decisive healings in Christian Science which may be compared to mileposts along the way.
One of these victories, in my case, was the instantaneous healing of a distressing throat infection. Medical care, treatments, and observation had been tried since my childhood, and a painful ear and throat operation had been undergone, but my suffering persisted until I learned of Christian Science.
My teachers of singing told me a little of Christian Science, and before long I bought my first copy of the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures'' by Mary Baker Eddy, which I read with some interest, though I did not study it seriously until later. Then the spiritual understanding unfolded.
