When Christian Science was presented to me, I was surrounded by materia medica, having in the family a physician, and also a druggist who owned and operated a drugstore. I had exhausted the resources of medical science in an effort to find my way out of a maze of encumbering difficulties that had assailed me from childhood.
That "the word of God is quick, and powerful," has been proved to me on numerous occasions since my advent into Christian Science. The following healing is indeed proof of the efficacy of this truth when rightly applied. Attacks of nervous indigestion, accompanied by pain and inability to eat or have normal eliminations had sent me to bed many times. I had been told by a physician that he could do nothing for me, and I had accepted this statement. One day, after a severe attack, with much difficulty I made my way to a telephone and called a Christian Science practitioner for help. Absent treatment was lovingly given, and the healing took place almost immediately. I was released from the imprisoning thought that had held me in bondage for so many years, and have remained free through the four years since.
All that I am today, I owe to Christian Science. I could never express in words my humble gratitude to Mary Baker Eddy, who stood alone with God to give us this transforming truth.
